Studio Manager (Sales Focus)
Full or Part-time salaried, 32 hours/week over 4 or 5 days (Sundays required) ยท $45,000/year + quarterly sales bonus
About us
Boston Yoga Union is an independent yoga studio. We opened in 2019 and we're still locally owned. We aren't a franchise. There's no district manager, no analytics team, and no corporate handbook written in another state. It's a small team that cares about good teaching, a front desk that knows people by name, and a community that keeps coming back because the classes are worth it.
We're looking for a Studio Manager who loves this kind of place and also loves growing it. This role is about sales. You'll turn first-timers into regulars and regulars into members, and you'll build a front desk team that does the same. You'll work directly with Tim, our owner, and your ideas will actually get used.
What you'll own
Sales and growth-
Own the path from first visit to membership: intro offers, follow-up, conversions, renewals, and win-backs.
Have real conversations with new students. Listen first, then recommend the membership or class pack that fits. No scripts, no pressure, no hard sell.
Set and track monthly goals for new memberships, intro-offer conversion, retention, and retail. Report on what's working and what isn't.
Help fill our 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training by running info sessions, following up with interested students, and spotting future teachers in our classes.
Coach the front desk team on sales. Run simple contests and incentives that make hitting goals fun.
Drive retail and merch sales, including seasonal merch drops.
Help plan events, workshops, and neighborhood outreach that bring new people in.
Momence
Be our in-house Momence expert, covering memberships, pricing options, intro offers, check-in, and client notes.
Manage leads and follow-up so no new student goes cold.
Build and keep up our automations, including welcome sequences, intro-offer follow-ups, renewal reminders, and outreach to lapsed members.
Pull and read reports on attendance, conversion, retention, and revenue, and turn them into action. Share schedule ideas based on what the numbers show.
Review daily rosters to spot first-timers, students on their last intro class, and regulars who've gone quiet, and make sure each of them gets a personal touch.
Handle account issues well: billing questions, holds, freezes, cancellations, and failed payments.
Train every new desk hire on Momence so both studios do things the same way.
Culture and the front desk
Set the tone for hospitality. Every person who walks in should feel expected, not processed.
Lead the front desk team across both locations, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, coaching, and covering shifts when needed.
Keep the studio inbox answered quickly and warmly.
Oversee livestream class uploads so the on-demand library stays current.
Know our teachers and schedule well enough to send each student to the right class, and be a good partner to the teaching team.
Keep both studios clean, stocked, and ready, and lead by example.
Work with the team on social content and promotions, and pass along what you hear from students at the desk.
Who you are
You like selling. You've worked toward goals before and want to beat them, and you do it in a way people actually enjoy.
You have 1โ2+ years leading people in a studio, boutique fitness, hospitality, or retail sales role.
You're comfortable with studio software. Experience with Momence is a big plus. If you've used Mindbody, Mariana Tek, or something similar, you'll pick it up quickly.
You're warm, organized, and you follow up. You notice the person standing at the door unsure if they're in the right place.
You love yoga. Being a certified teacher is a bonus, but it isn't required, and this isn't a teaching role.
You can work a mix of mornings and evenings, and you're available every Sunday.
You can move around the studio and lift up to 25 lbs (props, retail boxes, the occasional bolster mountain).
