Mitch Dobbs (he/him)

Hi, I’m Mitch. When I first got onto the mat not so long ago, I was really seeking the physical benefits of yoga. For the most part, I was really bummed I kept getting injured running or lifting weights and I was looking for a way to move that a) made that less likely and b) got me some strength or balance points in the meantime.

What I found instead was consistency. Day by day, showing up for my body turned into showing up for ME. Looking at yoga as a practical way to improve so many avenues of one’s life is what inspired me to try and start teaching it. I did just that by completing my RYT-200 hr. training with Tim Kelleher, Emily Jonas, Caitlyn Visconte, and Sandy Klemmer in 2025 at Boston Yoga Union.

In my classes, I like to move around the entire body and offer cues that help you understand both familiar and unfamiliar postures better. I offer a mix of challenging and doable so that anyone who takes class can get a win and realize their capabilities. From the beginning to the end of class, I ask my students to reflect on some part of themselves and try to improve it by any amount.

I am immensely grateful to my teachers for helping me share the practice of yoga with others, and inspiring me to improve every day.
