The Regeneration: A Winter Yin & Breathwork Practice for Rest, Hydration, and Renewal

  • Boston Yoga Union 1297 Beacon Street Brookline, MA, 02446 United States (map)

Winter is not a season of stagnation. It is a season of regeneration. Beneath the surface, the body repairs, rehydrates, and quietly reorganizes itself. This workshop is an invitation to enter that process consciously — without force, fixing, or striving. The Regeneration weaves long-held Yin Yoga and gentle, circulatory breathwork to support the body’s natural capacity for renewal and somatic inquiry during breath holds. Through slow, receptive shapes, we soften the fascia and invite hydration into tissues that have been holding too much for too long. Through breath, we support circulation, oxygenation, and subtle ignition — not to activate, but to restore. This is winter medicine. This practice supports: Deep rest and nervous system repair Hydration and fascial renewal Gentle circulation and vitality Emotional settling and mood support Immune resilience and seasonal balance There is nothing to achieve here. Nothing to become. Only the quiet intelligence of the body, allowed to do what it already knows how to do. Come as you are. Leave restored. This practice is designed to be accessible and supportive; participants are invited to honor their own health needs when choosing how to engage with breathwork, and are welcome to reach out to Emily with any questions ahead of time.

Meet Emily

Emily Peterson is a yin yoga teacher-trainer, shamanic practitioner, and guide in embodied healing. Her work is informed by over two decades of practice and study in applied psychology, mindfulness and peacebuilding, biomechanics, trauma and post-traumatic growth, somatic inquiry, and energy healing.

In addition to her formal training, Emily walks a shamanic path rooted in direct relationship with land, elements, and the unseen dimensions of experience.

Emily is known for her ability to translate complex material into clear, accessible, and embodied teaching. She bridges scientific understanding with contemplative and shamanic insight, offering frameworks that support both rigor and reverence. Students are guided to develop confidence not through mastery or performance, but through presence, discernment, and ethical relationship with those they serve.
