  • ALIGN

    With a desire to use the form to build structure and to find joy from that stability, these classes focus on developing skill and awareness within the body to build a deeper vocabulary and breadth into your practice.

    Your teacher will offer detailed techniques, make use of props and modifications, and dive deep into the structure of asana. Expect a slower pace, but not necessarily an easier class.

    Suitable for everyone from beginners to seasoned yogis.

  • FLOW

    Accessible to all, each vinyasa flow class has a unique and purposeful focus rooted in intelligent vinyasa sequencing.

    Your teacher will weave together a creative, dynamic, and intelligent flow. You’ll move, learn and find joy within the physical practice. Our approach to Vinyasa Flow is decidedly welcoming, unexpected and yet deeply familiar.

    Crafted with a sense of organic rhythm, each teacher brings their depth of experience and study to the room.

  • RESTORE

    This class will be a series of restorative yoga poses, each designed to help you rest, relax, and connect to a deep sense of stillness.

    If you’re new to restorative yoga, it involves resting for extended periods of time (often between 2-6 minutes) in yoga poses with the support of props like blankets, bolsters and blocks.

    With the support of the props, you’ll begin to release effort in the poses, allowing your body to rest and your mind to observe subtleties of the breath and the moment.

  • HEATED FLOW

    Heated to 80°F +, these power vinyasa flow classes are ‘heated up’ and have a focus rooted in intelligent vinyasa sequencing with a good mix of sweaty hot flow and a fab playlist.

    Your teacher will weave together a creative, dynamic, and rigorous flow. You’ll move, learn and find joy within the physical practice.

    New heater units are now installed in both the front and back studios for improved HEAT.

    Each class has a unique and purposeful focus rooted in both alignment and flow practices.

    Your teacher will weave together a creative, dynamic, and intelligent sequence. You’ll move, learn and find joy within the physical practice. The flows in Advanced Practice come from years of teaching and practice experience.

  • EXPRESS FLOW

    A fully formed flow class in just 45-minutes.

    Expect to build into a warming flow, and end with a short rest. Perfect for your lunch break.

  • YOGA 101

    This beginner yoga class has no prerequisites.

    This class has a focus on foundational knowledge, and is broad overview to build fundamentals and confidence - props, poses, transitions and breath.

    Yoga 101 is taught by experienced Union teachers. A perfect introduction to yoga for newcomers, and an opportunity for experienced students to refine their skills and get back to basics..

    Heated to 85°F. This class combines asana with meditation concepts and an inspired playlist to create a welcoming, upbeat and grounded experience.

  • UNRAVEL + UNWIND

    In this 75-minute class, you can expect 45 minutes of a grounding flow with the intention to unravel from the week, followed by 30 minutes of restorative postures to unwind into the evening.

    Intended for all-levels, this class is encouraged for students who could use a little extra time for themselves.

    MONDAY 5:45 PM + THURSDAY 7:15 PM.

  • SLOW FLOW + ROLL

    This class focuses on strength, stability and mobility by combining gentle conditioning exercises with some elements of a typical ‘flow and restore’ class.

    All levels of student are offered new movement techniques and inspiration to improve functional movement, understand how it informs yoga postures, increase the brain to whole-body connection and take ownership of their healing.

    Expect a trauma-informed approach and the use of massage balls in addition to standard studio props.

    WEDNESDAY 5:45 PM + SUNDAY 6 PM.

  • PRANAYAMA + SLOW FLOW

    Pranayama is the control or focus of the breath in the body. Inspired by techniques including Katonah Yoga.

    This class explores curiosity of the breath through various structured patterns that can invite us into more fluid, stable, heated or cooling states of being.

    Expect to use lots of props to build a container for breath with an accessible sequence of postures to support your physical and emotional wellbeing.

    SUNDAY 11:15 AM.

  • VINYASA

    Vinyasa Yoga is a vigorous yoga class that moves through poses at the pace of your breath. This class is designed for all levels; modifications are offered, allowing you to tailor the class to your ability and your body’s needs.

    The sequence of each class will build towards a challenging peak pose(s), stimulating your brain. Perfect for both the beginner and advanced practitioner, this class will be sweaty and fun!

  • GENTLE

    This class is designed to open the body safely and in a supportive environment. We will practice seated, standing, and reclining, to open up in all directions, while being kind to the joints. We'll tap into our breath to help calm the body and mind, in a gentle flow that will improve flexibility, balance, and awareness.

    Everything in yoga is optional and modifications will be offered so everyone can find the pose that's right for them. This practice is open to all levels and abilities, whether you're a seasoned yogi recovering from an injury, a complete beginner, or a vinyasa enthusiast looking to embrace some ease with your effort.

  • MAT PILATES

    Pilates focuses on engaging deep core muscles, improving strength, stability, posture, alignment, and body awareness. Mat-based work is the foundation of Pilates and includes exercise layers and variations that make it safe and challenging for all bodies, ages, and fitness levels. We’ll work all muscle groups, emphasizing challenging the core.

    Moving with breath and a mind-body connection, we’ll use controlled movements to strengthen, lengthen, and energize. Modifications will be offered, allowing each of us to work to our potential. All levels are welcome; whether you’ve never tried Pilates before or you have a little or a lot of Pilates experience, join us!

  • YIN

    Yin Yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that uses long-held passive poses to enhance, nourish, and renew the body’s vital energy and to prevent joint rigidity and immobility.

    Yin aids with digestion, muscle repair, organ detoxification, and emotional processing. The long held postures allow the connective tissue to strengthen, and with consistent practice, you will notice postural improvement and a more balanced being.

    Yin is the perfect complement to any active practices: cardio, strength building, Vinyasa, etc.; it is also great for anyone recovering from injury or illness and pre or post-natal.

  • SLOW FLOW + PRANAYAMA

    Slow Flow is an integrated yoga class combining Asana (posture) and Pranayama (breathwork) to create the right environment for Dharana (focus). The class will incorporate elements of alignment-based flow, core integration, respiratory system conditioning, as well as restorative poses for down-regulating the nervous system.

    This class is intended for practitioners of all levels looking to expand beyond purely postural work. The aim is to provide long term health benefits through strengthening the deep core & improving the resilience to stress by increasing the heart rate variability rate.

    This class is contra-indicated for anyone suffering from PTSD and/or severe psychiatric disorders.

  • WARM VINYASA

    Warm vinyasa is a flow style yoga in a room heated to 85 degrees F. The gentle heat helps you warm up quickly to protect your joints while also detoxifying and purifying your body without being overwhelming.

    With an emphasis on creativity and alignment, classes are inventive and thoughtful sequences of sun salutations, standing & seated postures, back bending and inversions—guided by a steady breath to tone and calm the mind.

    You’ll leave class feeling completely refreshed. This class is designed for all levels; modifications are offered, allowing you to tailor the class to your ability and your body’s needs.

  • FLOW + RESTORE

    Flow and Restore combines elements of vinyasa and restorative yoga, resulting in a practice that will leave you feeling peacefully replenished. This class begins with a grounding lunar flow to unwind the body and build heat in the muscles.

    A deliciously long savasana awaits you after the restorative sequence, replenishing the body and the nervous system. Whether you are recharging for the week ahead or looking for a mid-week break, you do not want to miss this!

  • FRIDAY NIGHT FLOW

    This class is the perfect way to reset after a long week.

    Each class will start with seated movement, breathwork, and gentle core work and build towards a slow flow with a focus on intuitive movement. Finish the class with some yin or restorative poses or some myo-fascial release techniques. Float away with a guided savasana.

    The class is a full body sensory experience featuring aromatherapy, a curated playlist, tea-lights and bliss lights. Leave the week behind and get revitalized with some much needed self care. This practice will support you as you leave your mat into the weekend to feel good and do good.

  • CANDLE LIGHT YIN

    Unwind from the week every Friday eve with this serene candlelit yin yoga. Melt into your weekend surrounded by moonlight & immersed in relaxing sound.

  • KUNDALINI + MEDITATION

    Kundalini Yoga and Meditation strengthens the nervous system, balances the glands, purifies the blood, and cleans out subconscious thought patterns. This practice gives you greater awareness and ability to choose how you respond to your thoughts and feelings.

    The practice of Kundalini Yoga develops the power of the intuitive mind and takes you out of the cycle of karma. Your positive intention to grow and put yourself through Kundalini kriyas (exercises) burns off karma. The more you practice, the more present, conscious, and intuitive you become. Walk the path of dharma (conscious living) rather than living in response to your karma (the results of your past actions). Kundalini Yoga also fortifies and expands your electromagnetic field, or aura (the energy field that surrounds you and alerts you to positive and negative influences in your environment).

    Kundalini Yoga gives you an experience of who you are when the grip of ego is released. With this practice you have the opportunity to create a strong connection to your soul and your soul’s work in this lifetime.

  • FUN-DAMENTALS

    New to yoga, or looking to get back to the foundations of what supports a safe and empowering yoga practice? Yoga FUNdamentals provides both the beginner and the seasoned practitioner an opportunity to get in tune with how their bodies move both on and off the mat. In this class you will create a strong connection to your body's abilities as well as learn how to determine what works for you, and what doesn't, in any given yoga posture. Guided by clear instruction, classes will focus on alignment and will incorporate imaginative strength-building exercises to prepare you for a more intense vinyasa flow class. This class will also introduce mindfulness practices and accessible meditations to begin to explore how our intentions impact the way we feel on and off the mat. You don't need to be able to touch your toes in this class, just bring an open mind and heart.

    This class uses the LYT Yoga Method, a form of vinyasa yoga created by a physical therapist, that aims to educate, empower, and upgrade your mind and body's ability to connect and move optimally.

  • $10 COMMUNITY VINYASA

    This class is $10 in person, online or on demand. Class is included for unlimited monthly members. Vinyasa Yoga is a vigorous yoga class that moves through poses with the pace of your breath. The class is designed for all levels with modifications offered to take the class at your own level and ability on any given day. The sequence of each class will build towards a challenging peak pose(s) to stimulate both the beginner and advanced practitioner as well as the kid at heart. This class will be fun and will challenge students of all levels.

Our core yoga class length, most classes at Boston Yoga Union are 1 hour, 15 minutes.

60-Minute

Reserved for early mornings, this truncated hour-long format is perfect to wake up and flow that starts the day.

45-Minute

Perfect for weekday mid-days, this 3/4 hour format is enough to flow, shower and return to work.
