A Weekend With Lynne Begier

Lynne Begier returns to share three workshops at the Union!

Saturday, November 2nd at 11am-12:30pm: Twist and Shout

Are you ready to rinse, wring and refresh on all levels - mental, physical and energetic?

Twists nourish the spinal disks by increasing blood flow to the spine while they also soothe the nervous system by toning the spinal nerves. They create a deep massage for the internal organs - especially those of digestion. Powerful for both physical body and deeply benefiting releasing stagnant energy and stuck emotions.

This class will begin on the floor to open up the back body, side body and shoulders in a passive and supported practice. We will then shift to an active warm up including intelligent core, static holds and resistance, then moving to a sweaty slow flow. Class will end with a long savasana and guided meditation. The playlist will be an eclectic mix of mantra, acoustic, pop, rock and silence. All Levels Welcome!

Saturday, November 2nd at 4-5:30pm: Hip Hip Hooray!

Join Lynne for a journey into creating healthy and happy Hips and Hamstrings!

Are you a runner or someone that suffers from chronic tightness in the hips and hamstrings? Or perhaps you spend a lot of time at a desk or driving in a car? With a compassionate, attentive and mindful approach, this workshop will work slowly and carefully to release, open and lengthen these large muscle groups.  This workshop will also do wonders for your lower back and digestion. Come Learn, Stretch and Relax! Class will include Yin Yoga, Slow Flow and Supported Restorative Poses. All Levels Welcome!

Sunday, November 3rd at 11am-12:30pm: Yin and Restorative Sound Bath with Deep Relaxation

Join Lynne for an immersion of deep rest, release and immersion in Sound and Yoga. Yin and Restorative Yoga practices are an opportunity to connect with the more quiet, lunar side of ourselves. It is common to chase life around and to be as busy as we can be while we leave ourselves depleted and disconnected. In this workshop we will take time to set up each pose and then will marinate in each pose for about 3 to 5 minutes. During each pose Lynne will play the Sound Bowls and other instruments - the bowls will work to release energetic and physical holding throughout the entire body. You can think of the Sound Bath as a deeply guided meditation where the sound of the bowls brings you inside of yourself. And you find yourself at home and at ease with "the support" of the bowls. No previous experience Required - All levels are welcome - If you are working with an injury or limitation please attend and allow yourself to be supported.

Price: $50 per session, or $140 for the full weekend
