I started practicing yoga and meditation in 2004, and I immediately noticed the positive effects—physically, emotionally, and energetically. Regular practice has allowed me to breathe more deeply, feel empowered, and stay focused, both on and off the mat.
As an avid learner, my passion for various forms of yoga asana and philosophy has only grown over the years. In 2016, I began as a Hands-On Assistant at Prana Power Yoga, and the following year, I decided to take the plunge into my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Wild Earth Yoga Therapy. I’ve since studied under Ame Wren and Daniel Max for my 300-hour certification, completed 100 hours of Ayurvedic Yoga Training with the Ayurvedic Health Retreat Center, and trained in Yin Yoga with Stuart Rice at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. I'm set to complete a 100-hour IAM Yoga Nidra Training with Kamini Desai this November.
As a Latina punk and advocate for body positivity, I'm dedicated to making yoga a welcoming space for those who may feel out of place in typical yoga settings. My classes are intentional, creative and powerful, but open to all levels. I craft sequences that blend non-traditional movements and music into a familiar flow framework that integrates yogic stories, philosophy or zen koans into class in an approachable manner. I design classes that are both accessible for beginners and challenging for experienced practitioners by offering options throughout class, empowering students to make choices that honor their bodies and giving them the agency to shape their own practice.
