Join Kiera Penpeci for a 6- week self-massage series that leverages ball rolling techniques to inform better activation of the whole muscular system.
Many who experience aches, pains, and tightness will turn to yoga for relief because of the deep stretching that is inherent in many yoga poses. While increased flexibility is a helpful way to release tightness and increase mobility, stretching alone may only relieve the symptoms of a larger more fundamental issue, or exacerbate the issue.
Myofascial release is also an important method for improving mobility as it helps to release passively contracted muscles, improves circulation, and increases sensory awareness for sharper brain-to-body responsiveness in general movement or a yoga practice.
In this series Kiera will focus on one area of the musculoskeletal system per week as she leads you through release work with massage balls and other props, and Iyengar-influenced sequences to improve strength, stability, and mobility while encouraging optimal muscle tone and range-of-motion.
This series is ideal for all levels of practice, and especially relevant to those getting back into a movement practice or those cross-training for endurance running, cross fit, and other demanding practices.
